How to play First Person Boxing: guards, slips, and openings
You win in First Person Boxing by landing clean punches while your guard and head movement make the opponent miss. Pick the guard that matches where they are attacking, slip the punches you can read, and throw back into the gap they leave. The rest of this page goes through each piece in order.
Reading from first person
A first-person camera means you never see your own fighter's stance. You see your gloves at the bottom of the screen and nothing else of yourself. That changes how you read a fight. You can't check your feet, so distance is judged by how big the opponent looks. Their shoulders and gloves tell you what is coming. The official screenshots show opponents crouched with gloves near the face, or leaning in mid-punch, and those are the shapes to learn.
Guards: head or body
The developer's list includes "different guards to protect your head & body." In practice that is a choice, not a wall:
- Hold the guard that covers where the opponent keeps hitting you.
- Expect them to switch targets once they notice. A body guard against a head-hunter is wasted.
- A guard stops damage but does not create an opening by itself. You still need to throw back.
The official page does not say how much damage a guard absorbs or whether guarding drains stamina. Treat the guard as something you change often, not something you hold for the whole round.
Slipping punches
A slip moves your head off the punch's path. The description pairs it directly with countering: "Slip punches, counter & outsmart your opponent." A blocked punch leaves both fighters roughly even. A slipped punch leaves the attacker reaching into empty air, which is the moment to hit back. Slipping is a read, though. Slip too early and they can adjust. Slip at random and you walk into the next shot.
Making openings
"Master your movement. Find the opening." is how the official page sums it up. Openings in a boxing game usually come from three places:
- After their punch. Right after a punch, their glove is out and that side is open.
- The other level. If their guard is high, the body is the target. If it is low, go upstairs.
- When they are tired. Stamina slows a fighter, so a gassed opponent recovers late. See the stamina page.
Controls by platform
The game supports PC, mobile, and console. The official page does not print a control list, and this guide does not guess one. Bindings for punching, guarding, and slipping are shown in-game. If a third-party video shows different keys, check the date. The game was updated several times in October 2026.
